Ukraine is one of the world’s most important suppliers of agricultural products, being an experienced producer and a significant exporter at the same time. Ukrainian export volume to the world market in 2021 amounted for more than $27 billion of different agricultural products.
Different kinds of oilseed crops are cultivated in Ukraine, but the chief (and one of the symbols of the country) being sunflowerseed. The main regions of sunflowerseed oil production are southern and eastern parts of Ukraine. Sunflowers are normally planted in April and harvested from mid-September to mid-October. The crop is rather profitable due to its combination of high price, relatively low production cost, and regularly high demand.
Ukraine is a leading sunflowerseed (or sunflower oil) producer and exporter. Crude sunflower oil produced in Ukraine in 2021 amounted 4.7 mil tons. Refined sunflower oil production in Ukraine made up 745 thsnd tons. Totally Ukraine exported 4.7 mil tons of sunflowerseed oil, 475 thsnd tons of soybean oil and 130 thsnd tons of rapeseed oil in 2021, what is 19.6% more than in 2020 and represents 12.6% of Ukraine’s total exports of goods and 30.9% of exports of agricultural food products. Besides vegetable oil, Ukraine is also the world leader in export of oilseed products. Such oilseed products as sunflowerseed cake and meal are usually used as raw materials for animal feed and the biofuel production.
Imports of oil and fat products to Ukraine during the 2021 amounted USD 438.8 mil, representing 0.6% of total imports of goods and 5.7% of imports of agricultural products and foodstuffs. Oil and fat import is mostly made up of palm oil grades.
Any oilseed and fat producer/trader needs his cargo quality and quantity to be assessed and confirmed with the correspondingly issued certificates. A surveying company, which is ‘FOSFA superintendent member’, could issue such certificates. ‘MMC LLC’ is the acting FOSFA member and holds the appropriate certificate.

from the very beginning of oilseed/products export process such as cargo quantity/quality evaluation at an Oil Extraction Plant. Our surveyors can control any further cargo transshipping process: at the plant, car trucks, railway cars, flexitanks, barges and finally at the deep-sea vessel.
